DATE: Saturday 7th December 2019
LOCATION: Outside the White Horse Pub, Merthyr Tydfil.
TIME: 1pm-3pm
Come along to our first community clear-up!
Meeting outside the White Horse Pub in Merthyr Tydfil, we will move on to clear up the cemetery of the Sion Independent Chapel – one that has, like many others across the Valleys, been left to rot over the last few years.
What this means though, is that the countless graves in their cemetery have also been left to rot – left overgrown, strewn with fly-tipped rubbish, and forgotten. You wouldn’t even be able to tell there was anything but brambles due to the level of overgrowth.
Bring friends, bring comrades, bring family!
A few pairs of Garden Shears will be provided – though we do propose you bring whatever you can to help (gloves, water, sheers etc..)
We will be clearing the cemetery from 1pm to 3pm, with the likelihood of returning at a later date.
Come help us preserve our history, so that when the time comes, we are not forgotten as those lying in that lost cemetery are.
